Daphne Bickley
Viola & Violin Faculty

Born and raised in Lake Lure, North Carolina, Daphne Bickley has 17 years of experience working in several musical environments as a teacher, performer, and administrator.

 

Daphne attended the Peabody Music Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University, where she studied viola performance under Choong-Jin Chang. Locally, Daphne performs regularly with the Hendersonville Symphony, Brevard Philharmonic, Spartanburg Philharmonic, Johnson City Orchestra, and Piedmont Chamber Orchestra.

 

She has held leadership positions throughout her orchestral career and has participated and placed in several concerto competitions. Having experience in both the Suzuki method and traditional styles of teaching, with a heavy emphasis on ear training and performance preparation, Daphne creates an individualized curriculum for her violin and viola students to meet and surpass their musical aspirations.
