Gabe Epstein

Originally from Bethesda, Maryland, Gabe Epstein became interested in bluegrass and American roots music in his teens. He attended the Bluegrass, Old-Time, Country, and Celtic Music Program at East Tennessee State University, focusing on the 5-string banjo, before settling in Asheville in 2019. Since 2020, Gabe has toured nationally with the Asheville-based
progressive bluegrass band Songs from the Road Band. He is delighted to be teaching at the Academy for the Arts and sharing his passion for Appalachian roots music with others.
