Bryan Kraak

Bryan Kraak grew up in Black Mountain, NC. In 2012 Bryan moved to Chicago, where he later obtained his Bachelors of Music from DePaul University, studying with members of the Chicago Lyric Opera Orchestra and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. After his time at DePaul, Bryan attended the Eastman School of Music where he graduated with a Masters of Music in Performance and Literature. 

Bryan has been a professor at Montreat College since 2019, teaching a variety of music courses both on campus and online for their Adult Graduate Studies program. In addition, he is the trumpet instructor at North Buncombe High School. Bryan has also worked with students at Asheville and Charles D. Owen High School.

Bryan can be heard performing with churches in the Asheville area for weddings and special services as an active musician. He is a substitute trumpeter for the Hendersonville and Brevard Philharmonic orchestras. Bryan can be heard on the Eastman Wind Ensemble and Gloriae Dei Cantore’s upcoming recordings. He is incredibly excited to be teaching at the Academy For The Arts!
