Michael Hosford studied at Oberlin Conservatory and completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Trombone Performance at the Juilliard School, studying with Per Brevig (Metropolitan Opera) and Michael Powell (American Brass Quintet) respectively. He performed with such world-class ensembles as the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, the Metropolitan Opera orchestra, and for the Broadway productions of The King and I, 1776, Candide, Les Miserables, The Music Man, Parade, and The Lion King.
Bryan Kraak grew up in Black Mountain, NC. In 2012 Bryan moved to Chicago, where he later obtained his Bachelors of Music from DePaul University, studying with members of the Chicago Lyric Opera Orchestra and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. After his time at DePaul, Bryan attended the Eastman School of Music where he graduated with a Masters of Music in Performance and Literature.
Frank Southecorvo teaches alto, tenor, and baritone saxophone. He brings his saxophone expertise to groups large and small. Currently he plays and writes for the sax/bass duo, Color Of Sound; the jazz big band, Asheville Jazz Orchestra; the jazz trio, Up Jumped Three; the saxophone quartet, Saxasaurus; and a new 8 piece horn ensemble, A Little Mischief. In addition to teaching saxophone techniques, Frank enjoys teaching improvisation for beginners as well as advanced students.
Kate Steinbeck is recognized across the US and abroad as a passionate teacher, unique interpreter and innovative music producer with repertoire that ranges from Bach to Balinese. She loves teaching and revels in guiding students of all ages to discover the joy of making music and to achieve new levels of accomplishment and self-awareness. Her flute has taken her on many adventures and remarkable journeys.
