Daphne Waggener
Viola/ Violin Faculty

Daphne Waggener is a dedicated and accomplished violist with a Master’s degree in Music
Performance from the University of Toronto. A passionate orchestral musician, she is a core
member of the Asheville Symphony Orchestra and regularly performs as a substitute with the
Sarasota Orchestra. Originally from Sarasota, Florida, Daphne has had the privilege of
collaborating with many of the region’s esteemed orchestral professionals, experiences that
have deeply shaped her musical voice and professional journey.
In addition to her orchestral work, Daphne is an enthusiastic and experienced private teacher.
She finds great joy in mentoring students of all ages and skill levels, helping them develop both
technical proficiency and a lifelong love for music. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes
patience, creativity, and individualized instruction, fostering a supportive environment where
students can thrive.
Outside of her musical pursuits, Daphne enjoys spending quality time with her husband,
Andrew, and their beloved cat, Clara. Whether performing on stage or teaching in a one-on-one
setting, Daphne brings warmth, dedication, and a genuine love for music to everything she
does.
