About Conservatory Track

The Conservatory Track offers classes for students interested in more focused study in theory, sight-reading, music history, aural skills, and much more. Each 12-week session includes hands-on skill development, special masterclasses, and performance opportunities. Taught by AFTA faculty, these classes allow for an in-depth, yet flexible curriculum that meets the individualized needs of each student. Now offering classes for Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced levels!

Private study at AFTA is not required to participate in this class. Non-AFTA students are always invited to sign up!

Attendance Policies

Student Absences: 
These classes consist of a fixed schedule of classes per term for which the student pays in advance. Because of the nature of the group class environment, we will not be able to issue refunds or reimbursements for missed lessons (excused or unexcused). We are not able to schedule makeup lessons for individuals who miss group lessons for any reason.

Teacher Absences:

If the teacher is to be absent without a substitute, the class will be notified ahead of time. This class will then be rescheduled at no additional cost to the student.

 

Inclement Weather: 

If the Academy closes due to weather or church-wide closure events, the class will be rescheduled at no additional cost to the student. See our Inclement Weather for more information on these policies.

Course Termination: 

If a student wishes to discontinue the course, a 30-day written notice will be required. The cost of the course is non-refundable.

Prerequisites

  • Open to grades 2 – 12**

  • Currently must take private lessons (1-year minimum)**

  • Screening for placements

  • Minimum number of 3 students available for the course

Cost

Registrations on or before January 15:

$300 per session plus supplies.

 

Registrations after January 15:

$325 per session plus supplies.

 

Non-AFTA students must also pay $25 Program Fee. Payment is due upfront. 

 

Note: At this time, scholarships are not available for this class.
